Mental Health First Aid Refresher

Renew your skills as an official Mental Health First Aider (MHFAider®)!

We believe mental health should be treated equally to physical health — and just like physical first aid, mental health first aid training should be kept up to date. Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Refresher is a half-day Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) England course designed for those who have already qualified as Mental Health First Aiders (MHFAiders®), having completed the main MHFA course.

Just like physical first aid, it is recommended that MHFAiders® attend an MHFA Refresher course every 3 years. This gives you the chance to renew your skills, update your knowledge of mental health support, and practise applying the MHFA action plan so you feel as confident as possible helping others in need of support with their mental health. If you’ve completed MHFA within this period, MHFA Refresher is for you.

Here at Devon Mind, our accredited instructors deliver MHFA Refresher training to anyone who has completed MHFA England’s flagship course, either with us or with another provider. The half-day course takes the form of one 4-hour session which will contain a mixture of elements including presentations, group discussions, and workshop activities — all designed to remind you of the fundamental principles of MHFA.

Everyone who completes MHFA Refresher will receive 3 years of certification from MHFA England, plus access to ongoing benefits as part of the growing MHFAider® community. You will gain access to resources, ongoing learning, and 24/7 digital support through the MHFAider Support App®, giving you the tools and knowledge you need to carry out the role effectively and confidently.
